 DNA Nanoparticle Carriers

A novel approach to targeted drug delivery, our team runs the first of its kind fully atomistic simulations of DNA & Silver Nanoparticle systems. Calculations of the most ideal strand length will allow experimentalists to make our work a reality.

Orthopedic Design

A summer internship at Instituto Tecnico Ortopedico in Barcelona, Spain, this project focused on 3D Designs and Prints of orthopedic devices to be used on patients.

Multimodal Haptic Feedback

This project developed a device that could give a finger two different types of stimulation simultaneously – pneumatic and electronic. Combining these modes of haptic stimulation will allow users to begin to feel more complex textures, pushing science closer to feeling a virtual world.

The Haptic Glove

This glove utilized heating and cooling elements to change the temperature of the finger lining polymer, passing through the glass transition temperature and allowing for morphology changes of the material. This allowed a user to experience gripping sensations of virtual objects.

The Resolution of Touch

The senses of vision and hearing have been researched extensively, but the sense of touch is still mostly unknown. This project focused on understanding the smallest features humans could differentiate only by touch, in this case differences of surface energy alone.
